Above are some selections from my quick road trip through Death Valley two weeks ago. The most striking aspect to visiting the park were the roadways, which seem to span for eternity. After I began photographing, it seemed even the shape of the landscape began to mimic the roads. There was also an eerie silence that engulfed Death Valley – never in my life have I been outside (even in a national park) and not heard birds chirping, cars driving by, water running, kids playing, etc. Pretty incredible place and highly worth the detour.

A quick sample video of some of the GoPro footage I’ve been shooting with friends this winter up at Kirkwood with a GoPro Hero 2. Such an incredibly fun camera that has opened many new doors in terms of the way I shoot (and edit) video and photography. I am currently working on producing some more snowboard footage from recent trips as well as a race video from Parker 425 shot earlier this month. Below is a photo of one of the GoPro cameras mounted to the top DOKS Race Support truck in Parker.
Have been on the road quite a bit during the month of February (logged over 2k miles on the WRX in less than two weeks)! Below are just a few images from The Strip in Las Vegas that I took while attending this year’s WPPI at the MGM. This was my first year attending the convention – had the opportunity to take some fantastic photography classes from some amazing photographers, as well as see many old friends out on the trade show floor!
After wrapping up WPPI, I made a quick detour through Death Valley on the trip home. Stay tuned for those images!
